The symbol of the Christian Death Cult is an execution device.

crucifix: An image of Christ on the cross, also known as Jeebus on a stick.

crucify: To put a person to death by nailing or binding to a cross.

For some reason Jeebus was sentenced to be executed. Perhaps his crime was excessive stupidity. For whatever reason, Jeebus was nailed to a cross. The usual procedure was to just tie the criminal to a cross but an exception was made for Jeebus. Perhaps it was because Jeebus was an asshole.

Later Jeebus dropped dead. Everyone said "Good riddance."

Three days later his stinking corpse was missing from its grave. Later the dead Jeebus showed up but he was alive again. Everyone said "We should have cremated the stupid asshole."

Other people believed this bullshit story and a new religion was born that survives today twenty centuries later. Like the dead Jeebus his followers are assholes and they're excessively stupid.
