"Darwin was the first to use data from nature to convince people that evolution is true, and his idea of natural selection was truly novel. It testifies to his genius that the concept of natural theology, accepted by most educated Westerners before 1859, was vanquished within only a few years by a single five-hundred-page book. On the Origin of Species turned the mysteries of life's diversity from mythology into genuine science." -- Jerry Coyne

At another website I tried to explain reality to a Christian retard. What a waste of time.
Challenge to atheists = Challenge to normal people.
Belief in God is the only logical explanation for the universe = MAGIC is the only logical explanation for the universe.
What if every scientist invoked supernatural magic whenever a scientific problem was difficult to solve? What if Darwin gave up and invoked magic? What if Einstein gave up and invoked magic? What if Newton gave up and invoked magic?
Oh wait, Newton did give up and invoke magic (or what lazy superstitious people call God). After successfully explaining how our planet could orbit the sun despite the influence of our moon, he gave up after trying to consider the influence of the other planets on our earth's orbit. He gave up and invoked his god fairy's magic wand.
Newton was brilliant. He could have solved his problems but he was too quick to give up. He just said "god did it, that's the only possible explanation."
One century later another scientist solved all of Newton's problems without the god hypothesis.
Do you get my point? Do you still think your laziness is a good idea?
Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge: it is those who know little, not those who know much, who so positively assert that this or that problem will never be solved by science.
-- Charles Darwin
If the history of science teaches us anything, it is that what conquers our ignorance is research, not giving up and attributing our ignorance to the miraculous work of a creator. -- Jerry Coyne
Science is a philosophy of discovery, intelligent design is a philosophy of ignorance. -- Neil deGrasse Tyson
