Imagine what it's like to live in a country where about 9 out of every 10 people don't even know what they are. We are apes, just animals, and nothing more than that, but the vast majority of Americans think we are something else -- special creations of a magic fairy, either by instant magical creation, or thanks to some kind of magical intervention in our development. According to these uneducated morons, the human race would not exist if not for their fairy's magic wand.
