If you look at the universe and study the universe, what you find is that there is no evidence that we need anything other than the laws of physics and the other laws of science to explain everything we see. There's absolutely no evidence that we need any supernatural hand of god. -- Lawrence Krauss, World-Renowned Physicist
There is probably no other notion in any field of science that has been as extensively tested and as thoroughly corroborated as the evolutionary origin of living organisms. -- Encyclopedia Britannica
FAITH. No one word personifies the absolute worst and most wicked properties of religion better than that. Faith is mind-rot. It’s the poison that destroys critical thinking, undermines evidence, and leads people into lives dedicated to absurdity. It’s a parasite regarded as a virtue. -- PZ Myers
Religion is the antithesis of science, an anesthetic for the mind that disables critical thought and encourages the acceptance of inanity as fact, and wishful thinking as evidence. -- PZ Myers

The science deniers of Idiot America, it's much worse than I thought.

Please see the gallup poll at the end of this post.

What got my attention was this: Creationism, that is, the idea that God created human beings pretty much in their present form at one time within the last 10,000 years = 15% definitely false.

This means only 15% of Americans are certain the most ridiculous idea ever invented is bullshit. It means 85% of Americans are idiots who are not able to completely reject the possibility that a fairy with a magic wand created people out of nothing 10,000 years ago. Therefore the Christian retards who think they accept evolution are not really accepting it all. If they had any understanding of the evidence for evolution and how evolution works they would not be saying magical-intelligent-design-creationism is probably false instead of definitely false.

This gallup poll shows the denial of evolution is mostly for religious reasons. And this is 152 years after Charles Darwin's On the Origin of Species. Darwin waited several years before publishing his masterpiece partly because he wanted to first accumulate more evidence, but also because he was concerned with the reaction he expected. He knew he was killing god during a time when virtually everyone was a superstitious idiot. He wrote it is like confessing a murder.

If Darwin could be alive today, two things would surprise him. He would notice the evidence for Natural Selection is more powerful than he could have ever imagined possible. And I think he would be very surprised to find out despite the massive amount of evidence for evolution, there are still millions of people who refuse to understand it because it conflicts with the bullshit in the Bible. He would wonder why the human race is just as backward in the 21st century as it was in the 19th century.
