Probably not. Without the idea dead people can magically fly to a magical paradise to have a magical 2nd life after they drop dead there would be no reason to suck up to the dead Jeebus and no reason to go to church.

The preacher man totally understands how important it is to repeatedly sell the magical heaven bullshit. He knows his cowardly customers would stop giving him their hard earned money and he would have to get a real job.

Many preachers also sell the disgusting hell bullshit. If you don't suck up to your loving god it will torture you forever. This is how they terrify gullible children, aka future customers.
