The nomination of a Secretary-designate is reviewed during hearings held by the members of the Energy and Natural Resources committee, then presented to the full Senate for a vote.
Rick Perry[edit]
On December 13, 2016 Rick Perry, former Governor of Texas, was selected to be the Secretary of Energy.[160] During a previous presidential campaign, Perry said he intended to abolish the department.[161] His nomination was approved by a 16–7 vote from the United States Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources on January 31, 2017.[162] On March 2, 2017, Perry was confirmed by the United States Senate in a 62–37 vote.[163] Prior to Perry's confirmation, the acting Secretary of Energy was Grace Bochenek.

Betsy DeVos[edit]
Trump's selection of former RNC member Betsy DeVos from Michigan was officially announced on November 23, 2016.
Originally scheduled for January 11, but was postponed because the Office of Government Ethics had not completed its review of DeVos' financial holdings and potential conflicts of interest.[164] On January 20, the Office of Government Ethics completed their ethics report on DeVos, three days after her hearing with the Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions was held. The completion of the report prompted the delay of her scheduled committee vote to January 31. Senate Democrats had requested a second hearing for DeVos to committee chair Senator Lamar Alexander, which he denied. DeVos has repeatedly said that she will divest from 102 companies within 90 days if confirmed.[165][166][167] On February 7, 2017, the full senate voted 51–50 – with Vice President Pence casting the tie-breaking vote – to confirm DeVos, with Pence becoming the first vice president in U.S. history to cast the tie-breaking vote for a cabinet nominee,[168][169]since Henry A. Wallace having his confirmation tie broken by Truman.[170] Prior to DeVos' confirmation, Phil Rosenfelt served as the acting Secretary of Education.

Secretary of Energy, Rick Perry, is an evolution denier. I knew that a long time ago. This asshole for Jeebus did all he could to dumb down the teaching of evolution when he was the governor of Texas. Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos, is an evolution denier. This I just found out at the New York Times. I had some respect for Ms. DeVos but that respect is gone. Starting today I have extreme contempt for this god-soaked moron.
The Secretary of Education wants to let incompetent biology teachers spread lies about evolution in their science classrooms.
President Trump, you fucking asshole. You're destroying this country. You're doing everything you can to make America a laughing stock. A science denier for Secretary of Education. Nice choice you fucking retard.
Trump chose Pence to be the Vice President of the United States. Pence is an evolution denier. When Pence was a congressman he gave a speech about his love for magical creationism.
Is there anyone in the Trump Administration who isn't a know-nothing science denier? Apparently not.
The Secretary of Housing and Urban Development is Ben Carson who has made several videos about his love for god-did-it therefore evolution is wrong.
Is Trump an evolution denier? I don't think he knows what evolution is.
