"The solace and comfort that religion brings you actually comes at a terrible price."

"Those who consider themselves only moderately religious really need to look in the mirror and recognize that the solace and comfort that religion brings you actually comes at a terrible price. If you belonged to a political party or a social club that was tied to as much bigotry, misogyny, violence and sheer ignorance as religion is, you'd resign in protest. To do otherwise is to be an enabler, a mafia wife for the true devils of extremism that draw their legitimacy from the millions of their fellow followers."

The idea there's a god fairy with a magic wand hiding somewhere in the universe is as childish as a belief in the Easter Bunny. The god fairy, besides being an idiotic fantasy for morons, is just plain unnecessary. New scientific discoveries have repeatedly shown there's a reason for everything and that reason is not magic.

But let's throw out all common sense and pretend to be retarded enough to believe in a magic god fairy, even though most certainly there is no magic in the universe. OK, there's a god monster somewhere. Who cares? It's never shown itself (probably because it doesn't exist), so why bother with it? Why worship it? Why pray to it? Isn't it stupid enough to just believe in it?

My point is if a Magical Master of the Universe was real, why pretend it pays attention to the human apes of this one planet in a universe of countless trillions of planets? Of course there's no point in using this logic with people who are infected with the incurable god disease. Stupid can't be fixed.

In the near future I plan to at least try to ignore the mental illness called religion but it won't be easy. The disease is an epidemic in Idiot America where I live, and in the violent Middle East the problem is even worse. Every day in the newspaper on the front page there's at least one story about violence and always it's religious violence. For example on page A1 of the 6/11/2011 Wall Street Journal there's a story about Muslims in Egypt who cut off the right ear of a Christian. The reason for this atrocity? The victim lost his ear because he wasn't a Muslim. I guess this is why Islam is called the religion of peace. Of course both the suicide bomber religion and the Jeebus Death Cult are nothing more than man-made fantasies for gullible idiots.

The perfect solution for the Muslim/Christian conflict in Egypt would be everyone should just grow up and become normal, also known as atheist. I noticed atheists don't cut off ears to make a point. Of course the religious idiots will never grow up because like I wrote earlier, stupid can't be fixed.

The quote in the title of this post is from the movie Religulous. The point Bill Maher was trying to make is religious people, no matter how moderate they think they are, should be ashamed of themselves. They are all part of the problem because they believe the same bullshit the terrorist assholes believe. If they had any sense of decency they would want nothing to do with any religion. Of course they don't care about the never ending religious violence. They're too cowardly to even consider throwing out their childish superstitions because they're afraid of the idea there's no magical heaven for dead people, never caring that the cowardly heaven fantasy makes terrorism possible.

How can millions of people be so hopelessly stupid and gullible? Six million years of natural selection has given our species the largest brain of all primates and still most of the human population are dumber than dogs.
