I found this in Jerry Coyne's book "Faith Versus Fact":
The rational scrutiny of religious faith involves asking believers only two questions:
How do you know that?
What makes you so sure that the claims of your faith are right and the claims of other faiths are wrong?
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
These questions should make the god-soaked think. The problem is if these morons knew how to think they would have thrown out their ridiculous cults a long time ago.
Intense religious brainwashing includes teaching the victims to have zero curiosity and teaching them thinking is wrong. They must never think and they must never be curious about anything.
Some people are able to throw out the bullshit but the vast majority of these victims will waste their entire lives being completely wrong about everything. Their mental illness is incurable. Extreme stupid can't be fixed.
"Darwin was the first to use data from nature to convince people that evolution is true, and his idea of natural selection was truly novel. It testifies to his genius that the concept of natural theology, accepted by most educated Westerners before 1859, was vanquished within only a few years by a single five-hundred-page book. On the Origin of Species turned the mysteries of life's diversity from mythology into genuine science." -- Jerry Coyne
