A know-nothing bible-thumping creationist retard wrote "Darwin’s statement 'originally breathed by the Creator' opens his entire naturalistic discourse to include a Divine and supernatural connection."

The asshole is a typical American moron. This is his anti-science bullshit:

Letter: Darwin’s theory includes a ‘Creator’

As scientists penetrate deeper into the Micro and Macro worlds, the more mysterious and complex their discoveries become. Either Creationism or Darwinism, is how each of us has came to be.

I have often wondered how many people that believe in Darwinian evolution have read “The Origin Of Species.” For those that haven’t read it all, the last sentence reads as follows, “There is grandeur in this view of life, with its several powers, having been originally breathed by the Creator into a few forms or into one; and that, whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been and are being evolved.”

Darwin’s statement “originally breathed by the Creator” opens his entire naturalistic discourse to include a Divine and supernatural connection. To exist in Darwin’s macro evolutionary world there would be no eternal existence, no moral judgment, no cosmic purpose; man would be like the animals that are controlled by their natural instinct.

In Genesis chapters 1 and 2 God said, “Let Us make man in Our image according to Our Likeness: — and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul ” thus a triune being, a spirit, soul and body (1Thessalonians 5:23). There are two other parts of Man to consider — “who has put wisdom in the mind — given understanding to the heart” (Job 38:36). The mind is the connection between the ‘heart of man’ the ‘soul of man’ and the ‘spirit of man’ (Mark 12:29 - 31). Believe it or not.

Charles Darwin's On the Origin of Species was published in 1859, 159 years ago. We know things these days. We know how the 1st simple living cells got a foothold on Earth 4 billion years ago. It was a natural process. Your magical creator had nothing to do with it.

Please keep your religious fantasies out of science. Science does not require supernatural magic. This is not the Dark Ages. This is the 21st century.

Charles Darwin called himself an agnostic but it's obvious he was an atheist, aka normal person. So why did he stick the ridiculous creator fantasy into On the Origin of Species? I looked it up.

Charles Darwin closed the last paragraph of the first edition, (publication date 24 November 1859), of his On the Origin of Species with this sentence:-

There is grandeur in this view of life, with its several powers, having been originally breathed into a few forms or into one; and that, whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been, and are being, evolved.

It happened, however, that many persons felt that there was not enough grandeur to the view of life being offered by Charles Darwin in his On the Origin of Species such that Darwin inserted an additional "creationist" phrase in this closing sentence as it appears in subsequent editions from as early as January 1860:-

There is grandeur in this view of life, with its several powers, having been originally breathed by the Creator into a few forms or into one; and that, whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been, and are being, evolved.

In March, 1863, Darwin wrote about this inclusion of the three significant words ~ by the Creator ~ to his friend and scientific confidante Joseph Hooker:-

"I have long regretted that I truckled to public opinion & used Pentateuchal term of creation, by which I really meant “appeared” by some wholly unknown process. It is mere rubbish thinking, at present, of origin of life; one might as well think of origin of matter."

What does pentateuchal mean? I looked it up.

pentateuchal: relating to or contained in the first five books of the Old Testament.
