Charles Darwin killed the idiotic Magic Man fantasy in 1859 when he published On the Origin of Species. Most people didn't get the memo.
A question I asked. There was one excellent answer.
If God was not necessary for something as complex as the development of new species, then why would God be necessary for anything else?
Charles Darwin's Origin of Species made God unnecessary. Evolution is a fact that disproves God. Development of a new species happens naturally and is not as complex as you think it is. It's actually quiet simple. Christians make the mistake of assuming life is too complex to evolve. This idea is false and shows a infantile understanding of biology. Life is actually simple. Gradual changes over time accumulate into major changes.
So since God is unnecessary for life, the next step is to question the existence of God. What is God's purpose if science explains what we used to need a God for? God was created because we couldn't understand the natural world. But now that we understand most of the natural world, God has become obsolete.
"Darwin was the first to use data from nature to convince people that evolution is true, and his idea of natural selection was truly novel. It testifies to his genius that the concept of natural theology, accepted by most educated Westerners before 1859, was vanquished within only a few years by a single five-hundred-page book. On the Origin of Species turned the mysteries of life's diversity from mythology into genuine science." -- Jerry Coyne
