America is becoming infested with socialists.
New York Times - The Millennial Socialists Are Coming

A comment I wrote at the New York Times:
Did anyone tell these young people socialism never has worked and never will work? I prefer capitalism which is obviously working very nicely here in America.
My favorite quote about capitalism from a website called "The Atheist Conservative":
"Capitalism works well because it is in tune with our nature. Adam Smith called it 'the natural order of liberty'. Everyone selfishly desires to provide for his needs. To pay for what he wants from others – services and goods – he has to provide something that others will pay him for. Millions do it, and the result is prosperity. Capitalism is an abstract machine most beautiful to behold in the wonder of its workings. When individuals have the incentive to achieve, acquire, and enjoy something for themselves, they’ll go to great lengths to afford it. They’ll compete with each other to provide what others want, toil to make it the better product, and set the price of it lower. The best is made available at the least cost. Everyone is both a taker and a giver, and everyone benefits. True, not everyone’s effort always succeeds, but nothing stops anyone from trying again."

Somebody else wrote this comment which I agree with:
"Socialists: They do real good until they run out of other people's money. Plenty of examples to point to."

Another comment - well done:
"All political philosophies are rooted in deeper 'what does it mean to be human' philosophies even if their adherents are not consciously aware of this. Much of the far left philosophy is rooted in 'victimhood' of one sort or another. Socialism takes this one step further in that it is rooted in a general philosophy that views the individual as inherently weak. As such, it is a dangerous system as it destroys the human spirit."
"Darwin was the first to use data from nature to convince people that evolution is true, and his idea of natural selection was truly novel. It testifies to his genius that the concept of natural theology, accepted by most educated Westerners before 1859, was vanquished within only a few years by a single five-hundred-page book. On the Origin of Species turned the mysteries of life's diversity from mythology into genuine science." -- Jerry Coyne
