Zwischenzug

In chess what I call a "in between move" is usually called by the German name zwischenzug.

Wikipedia: The zwischenzug (German: pronounced [ˈtsvɪʃənˌtsuːk] "intermediate move") is a chess tactic in which a player, instead of playing the expected move (commonly a recapture ), first interposes another move posing an immediate threat that the opponent must answer, and only then plays the expected move.

I used a zwischenzug move to win a knight in the game I just played.

I nice thing about playing chess on the internet is everyone is your friend no matter what country they live in.

Another nice thing about playing chess or watching chess games is it's totally free including free computer analysis of games at https://lichess.org.
