Yesterday a book I ordered from Amazon arrived and I've been reading it. The book is about evolution and magical creationism.
"God's Word or Human Reason? An Inside Perspective on Creationism" by Jonathan Kane, Emily Willoughby, and T. Michael Keesey
The purpose of this book: Convince creationists, aka uneducated morons, they should throw out magical creationism and accept the established truth of evolution.
There is lots and lots of sucking up to creationist fucktards. The authors used to be infected with the creationism disease so they understand their audience.
Their idea goes like this: You can accept evolution and still be a Christian idiot.
I have a problem with that idea because it's dishonest and the creationists know it's dishonest. If evolution is true (it's the strongest fact of science) then the Magic Jeebus Man (a creationist) was a fucking retard. The problem with being dishonest is everyone knows you're a liar.
But still the book is very interesting. Also the science is excellent. Tons of interesting evidences for evolution.
Despite the dishonesty (science and supernatural magic are compatible) I recommend this book.
"Darwin was the first to use data from nature to convince people that evolution is true, and his idea of natural selection was truly novel. It testifies to his genius that the concept of natural theology, accepted by most educated Westerners before 1859, was vanquished within only a few years by a single five-hundred-page book. On the Origin of Species turned the mysteries of life's diversity from mythology into genuine science." -- Jerry Coyne
