An idiot asked for advice. I recommended stop being an idiot.

This is what the idiot wrote:

Hi. I was raised as a Catholic, but I do not believe in many of the things I am told I should believe in and being in church makes me really anxious because of this. However, I will not elaborate on the problems I have with Christianity because I do not want to start debates or arguments here. A couple years ago I decided I was no longer a Christian. Since then, I have been feeling very detached and for a while I have been searching for a new religion. I am open to learning about pretty much any religion, but I will not follow one unless I can fully believe in it. I am trying to hone in on what I believe in and I have looked at a wide variety of faiths. I would be interested to know what people's religions are and why they follow them. Does anyone have any suggestions for me or can someone politely and concisely explain their religion? I know this is not a topic people generally talk about, so I would be very grateful for any insight I can get. Thanks.

I have a suggestion. Instead of replacing one idiotic religious cult with another idiotic religious cult, you could try reality.

The magic god fairy is not reality. It's a fantasy, a denial of reality.

Here in the 21st century where normal people live we know things these days. We know everything we see in the universe are the result of natural processes. We might not yet know everything about these natural processes but we know these things work.

This means a magic god fairy was never necessary for anything. A god fairy that never had anything to do is a fairy that doesn't exist. No fairy means nothing to worship, nothing to suck up to.

Reality is a wonderful thing because it's interesting and it's real. I strongly recommend it.

Do what you want. Nobody cares. But you should ask yourself do you really want to waste the one life you have being a cowardly superstitious idiot?
