Somebody wrote "I just really don't see how we, as human beings, came from animals."
We are animals, or to be more accurate we are mammals, primates, and apes. DNA evidence repeatedly shows we are very closely related to chimpanzee apes. This is scientific fact. There is no debate about these facts.
The evidence for evolution is way beyond overwhelming. It would be impossible for a competent biologist (or any educated person) to deny our evolutionary relationship with all other life.
The problem is these evolution deniers are too lazy to educate themselves. Also they have no curiosity. A normal person would wonder why every biologist in the world accepts the established truth of evolution. They would be curious. The science deniers are not curious about anything. Religious brainwashing sucked all their curiosity out of them.
Of course the other problem is stupidity. I never met a creationist who didn't have a defective brain.
"Darwin was the first to use data from nature to convince people that evolution is true, and his idea of natural selection was truly novel. It testifies to his genius that the concept of natural theology, accepted by most educated Westerners before 1859, was vanquished within only a few years by a single five-hundred-page book. On the Origin of Species turned the mysteries of life's diversity from mythology into genuine science." -- Jerry Coyne
