"Darwin was the first to use data from nature to convince people that evolution is true, and his idea of natural selection was truly novel. It testifies to his genius that the concept of natural theology, accepted by most educated Westerners before 1859, was vanquished within only a few years by a single five-hundred-page book. On the Origin of Species turned the mysteries of life's diversity from mythology into genuine science." -- Jerry Coyne

Cunk on Britain, 30 minutes, very interesting history of the UK. I watched the whole thing. "In this insightful mockumentary series from Charlie Brooker, Philomena Cunk takes us on a journey right up Britain's history, to discover who we really are, how we got here and why. Along the way Philomena travels the length and breadth of the country enlisting the help of a variety of experts. In this first episode, Philomena takes us right back to the beginning with the Big Bang and interviews Robert Peston about British politics."
