Humans are apes and I think that's wonderful because it's interesting and because it's a fact.

Millions of American Christians think their species was magically created out of nothing and we are completely separate from the rest of nature. This might explain why they have no problem with destroying nature if it's lucrative to do that. The problem is when we abuse nature we are destroying ourselves.

This is what I wrote for some creationists (aka idiots for Jeebus):

Human are one of the ape species. This is scientific fact. This fact will always be a fact no matter how much know-nothing science deniers complain about it.

The science deniers should visit a zoo, preferably the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago, and visit the gorilla apes. They will see how intelligent these apes are. And if they have any common sense they might be able to figure out we share an ancient ape ancestor with these wonderful creatures.

DNA sequencing has shown chimpanzee apes are more closely related to human apes then they are to gorilla apes and orangutan apes.
