Human apes and cockroaches developed from the same natural processes, evolution by natural selection. Both people and disgusting insects are just one small twig on the vast tree of life. We are not the big fucking deal some people think we are.

We can do things cockroaches can't do, for example play chess. But could we live in a cockroach's environment? An insect has evolved just as much as we have. We just filled different niches.

Of course it's a good thing to be a human ape because I really like to play chess and step on cockroaches.

Religions have this idea that we are separate from nature, all thanks to their loving god fairy. This is of course wishful thinking, not to mention ridiculous.

We are not separate from nature. We are part of nature.

My point is people who have figured these things out are very unlikely to be infected with the god disease. Charles Darwin killed the childish god fairy fantasy in 1859 when he published On the Origin of Species.

One more thing. The know-nothing religious assholes who think we are separate from nature, I noticed they have no problem with destroying habitat and wiping out species if it's lucrative to do that. The problem is when we destroy nature we are destroying ourselves.
