President Trump said his nominee to the Supreme Court will “most likely” be a woman and expects to announce his pick next week. |

The remarks were among Mr. Trump’s first public comments since a statement of admiration for Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who died Friday, apart from a tweet Saturday in which Mr. Trump said he had an “obligation, without delay” to select justices. Responding to the news that Senator Susan Collins, Republican of Maine, had said that the Senate should not vote on a nominee before the November election, Mr. Trump replied: “I totally disagree with her, we have an obligation. We won. And we have an obligation as the winners to pick who we want.” |
