Isn’t it pathetic how Christians refuse to accept that there’s no winning at life?
When you die you become worm food, end of story. There is no overcoming this, there is no winning, there is no overcoming death, there is no paradise. What happens is your body starts deteriorating until you finally drop dead (unless you die young), life isn’t some grand fairytale and pretending otherwise won’t change a thing. No matter how smart, successful, rich, powerful, great you are there is no winning. Your body still turns to shit, nothing you can do about it. Death is a depressing and miserable process of pain until it is finally game over, but most of all it is inevitable. We are born losers and we die losers, fragile, pathetic, helpless losers and there is nothing we can do about it besides recognizing this fact. As long as humans continue to exist humans will continue to lose, no way around it.

"Darwin was the first to use data from nature to convince people that evolution is true, and his idea of natural selection was truly novel. It testifies to his genius that the concept of natural theology, accepted by most educated Westerners before 1859, was vanquished within only a few years by a single five-hundred-page book. On the Origin of Species turned the mysteries of life's diversity from mythology into genuine science." -- Jerry Coyne
