Another excellent comment at the New York Times about keeping religious stupidity out of politics.

"I am neither Christian nor religious: I am American and as an American I expect my political leaders to keep their religion to themselves. I'm ashamed of Frank Bruni for wanting to bring more religion into politics. We have too much already. Now, if you want to denounce hypocrites who use the trappings of religion to help themselves get elected, that would be very appropriate. But I am thoroughly sick of the religious gestures, almost invariably Christian, candidates make who only do it because they think they're supposed to."
