"Why do some *Christians* (in their words) hate Genesis and instead wish to believe in Charles Darwit over God Himself?"
That's a very good question. Jeebus was a creationist as was everyone else who lived 2,000 years ago. If some Christians accept the established truth of evolution, then they are admitting Jeebus was an uneducated moron.
If Christians want to accept evolution they should throw out Christianity.
Another thing: Christians who accept evolution always stick supernatural magic into it, which is ridiculous. Evolution does not require "god-did-it". It's a natural process and God had absolutely nothing to do with it.
"Darwin was the first to use data from nature to convince people that evolution is true, and his idea of natural selection was truly novel. It testifies to his genius that the concept of natural theology, accepted by most educated Westerners before 1859, was vanquished within only a few years by a single five-hundred-page book. On the Origin of Species turned the mysteries of life's diversity from mythology into genuine science." -- Jerry Coyne
