"I'm a Christian myself, and I just can't see the logic behind hating evolution."
Your dead Jeebus was a creationist, aka uneducated moron. The religious implications are obvious.
There is another important religious implication of evolution: We know your Mr. God, aka the Magic Man, had absolutely nothing to do with evolution. Your god thing didn't invent or use or guide evolution. We also know the development of the 1st simple living cells 4 billion years ago was a natural process. Your Magic Man's magic wand was not required. The god you think is real never had anything to do, therefore it doesn't exist. Your god of the gaps has run out of hiding places.
I am suggesting that you face facts and realize we are all alone here. There is no magic god fairy watching over us.
"Darwin was the first to use data from nature to convince people that evolution is true, and his idea of natural selection was truly novel. It testifies to his genius that the concept of natural theology, accepted by most educated Westerners before 1859, was vanquished within only a few years by a single five-hundred-page book. On the Origin of Species turned the mysteries of life's diversity from mythology into genuine science." -- Jerry Coyne
