Chess: How to ask for a draw without saying anything.

Wikipedia - Threefold repetition

In chess and some other abstract strategy games, the threefold repetition rule (also known as repetition of position) states that a player can claim a draw if the same position occurs three times, or will occur after their next move, with the same player to move. The repeated positions do not need to occur in succession. The idea behind the rule is that if the position occurs three times, no progress is being made.

At https://lichess.org/ where I play chess I have set my preferences to always call a game a draw if a position repeats itself 3 times.

I noticed most of the better chess players never ask for a draw. Instead, if they want a draw, they try to repeat the position 3 times. If the opponent doesn't want a draw then he or she will be careful to not let the position repeat itself. If they also want a draw they just have to repeat the position 3 times.

Morons will disagree but I think it's wrong to ask for a draw because it distracts the opponent who is trying to think. There should be no talking during a game.
