Being alive and staying alive is a good thing. It matters because when we're alive we can do interesting stuff. It's just a fun thing and an interesting thing to be alive.

In any case there is nothing after this life. This is not an opinion. It's a basic fact of reality. Only a feeble-minded coward would wish for a magical 2nd life which is impossible and ridiculous.
