God clearly separates his human creation from all other beasts. He gives us superiority and dominion over them. He sacrifices them for our needs - such as food and as in beasts of burden. Thats because man alone is made in Gods image.

Gen 1:24 ¶ And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.
