At the Wall Street Journal I wrote a comment about the lunatics of the Islamic State, and why religions are bullshit.

Year 2001 to 2015. For 14 years America has been fighting in religious wars. Our progress so far, in wars 10 years longer than it took us to defeat 2 powerful countries in World War Two, is somewhere between zero and less than zero.

Thousands of American soldiers dead, thousands more permanently injured, and many of these brave people have committed suicide. For what? For accomplishing nothing.

Let's send some more troops in there for a few more years, or perhaps forever. It's not us who have to get killed because religious nuts can't be civilized.

In a world without religion the World Trade Towers would be still standing, and thousands of Americans would still be alive with all their limbs.

Religion is the idea that a magical being hides in another galaxy where it magically creates stuff. This childish superstitious nonsense has been good for nothing but stupidity, brainwashing, violence, and slowing down human progress.
