Biologists debate some of the minor details of evolution but they all accept the basic facts, for example all life shares a common ancestor.
Christian tards who prefer magical creationism instead of 150 years of scientific progress have a major debate about something that would be ridiculous to a normal person.
From a magical creationism website:
One of the most fundamental doctrines held dear by Christians is God’s creation of the world and all living creatures. Yet among evangelicals, an ongoing controversy exists regarding the age of the earth and when God created the universe and life. Indeed, the “young-earth” vs. “old-earth” debate is one of the most polarizing and divisive issues within the Christian community.
The controversy is how long ago was their fairy's magical creation of every creature out of nothing. It's a debate between the retarded and the extremely retarded.
Discovering the age of the earth (about 4.54 billion years) was one of the greatest accomplishments of the human race. The young-earth idiots want to throw out this hard work for their insane 6,000 year old universe fantasy.
The old-earth idiots accept the reality of a billions of years old planet, but they still throw out the most important fact of science and the foundation of modern biology (evolution).
Watching these morons debate when their fairy waved its magic wand is entertaining because it demonstrates the hopeless insanity of Christian tards.
Their brain damage is almost always incurable. I would almost feel sorry for these cowardly assholes if not for their brainwashing of innocent children and their never ending war against science education.
"Darwin was the first to use data from nature to convince people that evolution is true, and his idea of natural selection was truly novel. It testifies to his genius that the concept of natural theology, accepted by most educated Westerners before 1859, was vanquished within only a few years by a single five-hundred-page book. On the Origin of Species turned the mysteries of life's diversity from mythology into genuine science." -- Jerry Coyne

"It's a debate between the retarded and the extremely retarded." LMFAO!!!!!! So true.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking as a former "young earther" here's what I pictured in my head: Earth, huge, hanging in space with a few empty planets around it. A sprinkling of stars (just for us) and God looking down on it all.
PUKE!!!! I really believed this, and so do they.
The science deniers don't know what they're missing.
ReplyDelete"The religious imagination is paltry and petty compared to the awesome reality."
-- PZ Myers
"I really believed this, and so do they."
This is why you have a better chance than a Richard Dawkins or a PZ Myers to help these people understand why they're wrong about everything. If anyone can save them from a wasted life it's you.
I just posted the quote by Richard Feinman and my nephew "liked" it. His mom (my sister) is still a zealot and is praying for his salvation. I'm helping him to not lose it. You're right, I guess I would be qualified.
ReplyDeleteI really appreciate being able to read on here and I love your snark. I've tried to be tolerant but I just can't. I fucking hate it and hate it as zealously as I once believed it. It all makes my stomach turn because it stole more than one third of my life. So, if I can make a dent toward ridding the world of it, then good. My life wasn't wasted.
Okay, I feel like troll. I'll wait a few days before I post again, lol.
"my nephew liked it."
ReplyDeleteThe youngest victims of religious indoctrination have a better chance of being cured. The future belongs to the atheists.
"Okay, I feel like troll."
Your excellent comments are always welcome. Please feel free to write comments all you want anywhere you want as often as you want.
By the way my history includes 9 years of Catholic school, kindergarten thru 8th grade. After four years in a public high school I was able to throw out the insanity. The turning point was when a brilliant 16 year old girl asked me why I go to church and I was unable to answer the question.
ReplyDeleteThe Catholic death cult is the easiest religion to escape from because it so obviously is a money making racket.
It took a few more years to completely purge the brainwashing, especially the god fantasy. Now every time I study science my atheism grows stronger. My contempt for religious idiocy also continues to grow.
I just wrote a book here and it disappeared! GRRR! I'll write it again when I'm no longer pissed off!
ReplyDeleteBut thank you for welcoming me to comment any time!
I look forward to reading your "book".
ReplyDeleteWell, until I'm ready to rewrite the book, just curious, have you ever watched ebolaworld, messed up bible stories on youtube? just asking because this was something that propelled me further into finding atheist websites on youtube and then from there I've subscribed to almost every atheist youtuber as well. This caused me to grow leaps and bounds beyond what I would have been able to understand on my own. Youtube is where I got my exposure to Richard Feynman, Neil Degrasse Tyson, Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens :( sad he's gone, Sam Harriss, Robert Ingersoll (wow! love him! He's my "Moses") many, many others....
ReplyDeleteHumor really goes a long way to make a point. When it is intelligent humor, goes even further.
Ebolaworld isn't an "atheist" site but the "messed up bible stories" are great! Hysterical! That is part of the reason I love reading here because you might not even be attempting to be funny, but regardless you are and that resonates big time with me.
Laughter truly is the best medicine! Especially when it comes to the disease of religion.
I have not seen ebolaworld on youtube. I will look it up and watch it. Thanks for the information.
DeleteI appreciate your interest in my blog, and I'm pleased I have been able to make at least one person laugh.
TreeC, I think your "book" disappeared because google blogger has some limit to the size of comments. To get around that problem you might have to write more than one comment to get it all published. And of course you probably know it's a good idea to back up your comment before attempting to preview or publish it.
ReplyDeleteI sometimes write large comments on a google document and then copy and paste it to blogger.
When I realize I'm going to post long, I usually will copy and paste into notebook. This wasn't one of those times.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, wanted to share a link to one in the series of "messed up bible stories" Very well done. Thee King James English is purposely used wrong and it's over the top! If you haven't ever seen their stuff, I recommend it for a great laugh! It's therapeutic.
