Dr. Coyne has produced a detailed and comprehensive refutation of all the most frequently encountered arguments used by theists to bolster the patently false idea that faith has value and is in any way A Good Thing. Faith is in fact, nothing more than wallowing in the "ignorance is bliss" misleading aphorism. This book should be a preamble to every science course from middle school to University. Faith is not "another way of knowing". It is a lazy way to give up on the sometimes arduous task of knowing as much as possible about the universe in which we briefly exist. Faith stands directly in the way of our efforts to make the most of this life.
