How do invest in the stock market without sharing your retirement income with professional idiots, and without having to worry about anything.

In my opinion most investors are doing it wrong. The idea is to make money, not lose money.
I think this is the only correct way to invest in the stock market: Just buy shares on your own. You don't need anyone to hold your hand. You don't need to share your retirement income with professional idiots. After much research buy only the best dividend aristocrats (companies who have been increasing the dividend every year for at least 30 years, even during the worst recessions). Hold for life. One mouse click (at Charles Schwab for example) will let you reinvest those growing dividends for free. When the stock market crashes that's a good thing because your reinvested dividends can buy more shares.
Never sell. Don't touch the principal. Just watch your dividend income grow. Do it right, start at young age, and be able to retire long before you're old enough to collect social security. For me it doesn't matter if the share price goes up or down. I'm in it only for the dividend income.
