A famous paleontologist answered your question perfectly. This was written back when Christian fucktards called their magical creationism fantasy "creation science" even though there is nothing scientific about magical bullshit. Now they call their stupidity "intelligent design" which are code words that mean "The Magic Man did it." Calling magic "design" is lying. It's still magic and it's still bullshit.
"Creation science has not entered the curriculum for a reason so simple and so basic that we often forget to mention it: because it is false, and because good teachers understand why it is false. What could be more destructive of that most fragile yet most precious commodity in our entire intellectual heritage—good teaching—than a bill forcing our honorable teachers to sully their sacred trust by granting equal treatment to a doctrine not only known to be false, but calculated to undermine any general understanding of science as an enterprise?"
-- Stephen Jay Gould
The other thing which you probably already know about is the fact that teaching religious stupidity in a public school is a serious violation of the Establishment Clause of America's Bill of Rights. In 2005 Christian retards on a Pennsylvania school board tried to force biology teachers to make a statement about their magical intelligent design bullshit. Every teacher refused to cooperate with the Christian assholes. There was a trial. The Christian retards lost, wasting one million dollars of taxpayer's money to pay the legal bills. Angry voters threw the Christian morons out the window. I never met a Christian who wasn't a fucking idiot. Drop dead Christian scum.

"Darwin was the first to use data from nature to convince people that evolution is true, and his idea of natural selection was truly novel. It testifies to his genius that the concept of natural theology, accepted by most educated Westerners before 1859, was vanquished within only a few years by a single five-hundred-page book. On the Origin of Species turned the mysteries of life's diversity from mythology into genuine science." -- Jerry Coyne
