Everything about religion drives people away because every religious fantasy is ridiculous. The only people attracted to this nonsense are not too bright which is why the religious population becomes dumber every year.
Can you imagine an intelligent young person who loves science joining some goofy religion? It's virtually impossible in the 21st century.
This is why all religions will eventually go extinct: "Those who seek God will find Him."
Imagine being insane enough to believe looking for a magic fairy will mean finding a magic fairy? Religion is for one kind of person only: the mentally ill.
