Did God create the entire universe to have a special relationship with one species of primate here on earth?
Your question, well done. The universe is almost 14 billion years old. There are countless trillions of solar systems. Our solar system is about 4.5 billion years old. The human ape species didn't start looking like us until about 200,000 years ago.
All this stuff so the magical master of the entire universe could have its favorite ape species.
A famous quote:
So …altogether I can’t believe the special stories that’ve been made up about our relationship to the universe at large because they seem to be…too simple, too connected, too local, too provincial. The “earth,” He came to “the earth”, one of the aspects of God came to “the earth!” mind you, and look at what’s out there…? how can we…? it isn’t in proportion…!
-- Richard Feynman
"Darwin was the first to use data from nature to convince people that evolution is true, and his idea of natural selection was truly novel. It testifies to his genius that the concept of natural theology, accepted by most educated Westerners before 1859, was vanquished within only a few years by a single five-hundred-page book. On the Origin of Species turned the mysteries of life's diversity from mythology into genuine science." -- Jerry Coyne
