Why do I play chess?

Chess is a knife fight. We have 2 people who are doing everything they can to kill their opponent.

When I play chess I don't think about anything else. My mind is 100% on the game.

The positions we reach have never been seen before by anyone. We are creating something new and sometimes it's a beautiful thing.

In the middle of the knife fight, we often have each player attacking the opponent's king. That's when it gets very violent. It's a wonderful thing.

Winning a hard-fought game is very satisfying.

Losing sucks but it gives me an opportunity to learn something. I can use computer analysis to find out the correct moves I should have made.

My opponents are from every country in the world. We are all friends because we share a love for chess.
