The Catholic Church is a business. They sell bullshit. Their customers are morons, not to mention batshit crazy.
The Catholic Church is in the "Saint" creation business. The Church invents saints. If it can be proven the future saint was responsible for 2 miracles then the holy person becomes a saint. Some Catholics, hoping to get some problem solved, pray to their favorite saint (there are more than 1,000 saints). They ask the dead saint to ask the Magic Man to magically fix the problem.
How to prove something is a miracle? Not easy especially since miracles are impossible. The solution is just make stuff up.
For me it's very difficult to imagine how much fucking stupidity is required to believe all this bullshit.
Wikipedia has tons of stuff about this magical nonsense. For example this stuff:
"A saint may be designated as a patron saint of a particular cause, profession, or locale, or invoked as a protector against specific illnesses or disasters, sometimes by popular custom and sometimes by official declarations of the Church. Saints are not believed to have power of their own, but only that granted by God."
The idea is for every problem the Catholic has choose the best saint for the job.
The stupid, the burning out of control stupid.
