Never Back Down (Battlecry) - recorded by the Sofia Session orchestra & choir

When I was in the United States Army, in basic training we learned how to kill people. But there is another thing even more important we had to learn, and that was how to want to kill people.

I will never forget the day I wanted to kill a lieutenant. He thought that was a good thing, and he was right. Soldiers can't survive in a war if they don't love to kill people.

After basic training, I never had to leave the states. I had a desk job in Arlington, Virginia. I was a computer programmer which was my job before I got drafted. We were near the Pentagon and I had to go there several times to test my code because that's where the huge computer was.

The Vietnam war was still going on. 58,220 American soldiers were killed in that war. All for nothing. These days Vietnam and America are best friends. The war was ridiculous.

My brother joined the Army and he got sent to Vietnam. He said the marijuana was excellent.

Standing still as they charge We will hold our ground Not back down We will raise our swords From the ground And we will fight the war to end All the suffering, never fearing Heros foes or the daring And their cause to the gods we pray Never waive, time has come for us To take charge and fight the power Standing still as they charge We will hold our ground Not back down We will raise our swords From the ground And we will fight the war to end All the suffering, never fearing Heros foes or the daring And their cause to the gods we pray Never waive, time has come for us Let's obey and fight the power
