"If everyone died tomorrow the world would be a much better place. Don't you agree?"
If the human race went extinct it would the best thing that ever happened to this planet because we have been destroying it. However, I'm a human and I'm not interested in dropping dead.
Oceans would be safe again. No more plastic for whales to eat. No more global warming. New species would gradually evolve to fill the new niches. Species that are now going extinct would survive instead of being wiped out. It would change everything.
Earth would be a real paradise with no humans to enjoy it.
"Darwin was the first to use data from nature to convince people that evolution is true, and his idea of natural selection was truly novel. It testifies to his genius that the concept of natural theology, accepted by most educated Westerners before 1859, was vanquished within only a few years by a single five-hundred-page book. On the Origin of Species turned the mysteries of life's diversity from mythology into genuine science." -- Jerry Coyne
