A book I might buy. It's about the history of religious stupidity.

The Religion Virus: Why We Believe in God by Craig A James

Amazon customer review:

I found the book very informative and thought provoking. Meme theory is something I was not very familiar with, and Mr. James provided a well-rounded field of thought to consider. Having been raised in a fundamentalist evangelical environment which I was never able to buy into, I have always been curious and read extensively about all the major religions. I understand the various dogmas and methods used to promote the multitude of religious beliefs, but I've never been able to comprehend why any human with a reasonably well-developed brain blindly accepts a particular belief system on "faith". Questioning is an integral part of most human thought, yet is universally forbidden, or at least discouraged by all major religions. This book provides great insight on how this can occur.

The author's blog has an interesting article about the stupidity of the "intelligent design creationism" fantasy at http://religionvirus.blogspot.com/2010/12/intelligent-design-proponent-says-god.html
