"Who has more appreciation for nature, Christians or atheists?"
Atheists are more likely to appreciate nature from a scientific perspective and how biology interacts with the environment. Their appreciation of nature will be one that is informed by science, which provides clues, but does not, yet, have all answers.
Christians tend be absorbed in the meaning of life and what it entails in the afterlife, for them in a positive light and others in a negative light. I doubt they are really aware of nature itself or genuinely care.
"Darwin was the first to use data from nature to convince people that evolution is true, and his idea of natural selection was truly novel. It testifies to his genius that the concept of natural theology, accepted by most educated Westerners before 1859, was vanquished within only a few years by a single five-hundred-page book. On the Origin of Species turned the mysteries of life's diversity from mythology into genuine science." -- Jerry Coyne
