This is my 27th post about the Establishment Clause which is the first clause of the first sentence of the first amendment to our constitution. The first ten amendments were written by America's founding fathers and it's called the Bill of Rights.
Thomas Jefferson, the author of America's Declaration of Independence and our third president, called the Establishment Clause (Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion) our wall of separation between church and state.
The Establishment Clause must be respected by our federal government, and thanks to the Incorporation doctrine of the 14th Amendment the Establishment Clause must also be respected by our state and local governments, and our public schools.
The Establishment Clause is simple, easy to understand, and extremely important. It means keep religious bullshit and our government completely separate. This one clause of our constitution is the only thing that keeps America's Christian assholes from making this country a theocracy like Iran.
Christians don't respect our wall of separation between church and state because they're assholes and because they're stupid, too stupid to understand anything, not even something as simple as Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion.
There is a very small minority of Christians who get it. They understand why keeping religious idiocy completely separate from our government is in everyone's best interest.
Our politicians, who are politicians because they're too lazy to get real jobs, have figured out they will never be elected or reelected if they don't suck up to the idiots of Idiot America. So the House of Representatives of the United States Congress has thrown out our constitution and they have thrown out all common sense to vote 369 to 9 to keep the childish phrase IN GOD WE TRUST on our currency and even on our public buildings.
The nine politicians who voted against this insult to our Bill of Rights include the only politician of our federal government who has said he's normal (atheist). One. Only one. Idiot America has only one politician in our federal government who has publicly thrown out the idiotic magic-god-fairy idea. He is Pete Stark of California and I encourage visitors to read the four posts I wrote about him.
I also encourage visitors to read this Los Angeles Times article written by Michael Shermer: A fairy may be invoked in the national motto, but it has nothing to do with why Americans are free and secure.
The citizens of normal countries (every country except Idiot America) probably laugh at us when even President Obama (who refuses to admit he's an atheist) ends many of his speeches with the childish "god bless america" bullshit. They must think Americans are insane. Unfortunately they are correct to think that. America is not a real country. It's the world's largest insane asylum.
"Darwin was the first to use data from nature to convince people that evolution is true, and his idea of natural selection was truly novel. It testifies to his genius that the concept of natural theology, accepted by most educated Westerners before 1859, was vanquished within only a few years by a single five-hundred-page book. On the Origin of Species turned the mysteries of life's diversity from mythology into genuine science." -- Jerry Coyne
