I wrote this at chess.com which charges extra for everything and it has ads and it totally sucks. I did not have the nerve to say it was LIchess where everything is better because censorship is out of control at chess.com.
Why play chess? There are unbeatable computers out there.
After every game I play (at another website where everything is totally free and excellent and has no ads) I use their free computer analysis to study my games. It's fantastic to be able to find all my mistakes with a several moves explanation. Computers have made me love chess more than ever. If not for computers and the internet I would have virtually no opportunity to play chess.

As Black if White's 1st move is e4 my reply is always the Sicilian Defense and I often wind up playing the Najdorf Variation. As Black if White's 1st move is anything but e4 I play the King's Indian Defense. My plan has worked. I can survive the opening knowing just 2 openings, the Sicilian as Black, and the King's Indian as both Black and White.

At chess.com a dipshit started a thread about evolution, which is science he would replace with his god fairy's magic wand. I wrote a comment there. I won't write any more comments because censorship is out of control at that place.

The natural selection of what works is not random.
Best explanation I have read from a biologist:

Two things:
1. Reality is not a belief.
2. People did not evolve from chimps. Both species evolved from the same ancient ape ancestors. This is called "speciation". Look it up. This is a strong undeniable scientific fact backed up by countless thousands of evidences from DNA sequencing.
We have something called "Google" folks. Google is all-knowing. It can explain everything imaginable. It's free. It's instantenous. It should be used frequently. Education is a wonderful thing especially when it's easy and free.
Since nobody will bother looking up speciation I just did it for you all. The dictionary definition: The formation of new species as a result of geographic, physiological, anantomical, or behavioral factors that prevent previously interbreeding populations from breeding with each other.
An example: There are two ape species who evovled differently because they became separated by a wide river. They are called chimpanzees and bonobos. They look different and have a completely different culture. For example the bonobos would rather make love than make war. The chimps have been observed killing other chimps, a problem which their other close relatives (people) share.
Facts. Everything I have wrote here is a fact. If any complaints see Google to help you understand reality.

Evolution is the idea that new species have developed the past 3.5 Billion years thanks to the natural selection of favorable genes which eventually let creatures gradually change to adapt to a changing environment. This idea means all creatures including us are related. For example we are distant cousins of cockroaches and trees. Very distant. Amazing but true. Molecular biologists know it's true because they can see the history of life with their own eyes when they compare DNA sequences of different species.
There are books. Earlier in this thread I recommended 5 books about evolution which I have read. It's interesting to understand how evolution works and the countless evidences for it.

At chess.com someone who uses the French opening asked if it would be worth it to learn the Sicilian Defense. This is my answer and I sneaked in a plug for lichess.org hoping the idiots at chess.com (who charge extra for everything lichess offers for free) don't censor it.
Sicilian Defence, Najdorf Variation. Modern Chess Openings calls it the "Cadillac" or "Rolls Royce" of chess openings. It's a lot to learn and also you would have to learn every variation White can use to avoid the Najdorf. Lots of work but it's worth it. The games are exciting. And if you somehow survive the Middle Game you usually have an advantage in the Endgame.
Best chess advice I ever got: Keep playing the Najdorf no matter how many times you lose with it. The advice paid off because now it's my favorite opening for Black. I occasionally get wiped off the board with it, but I still love it. To help learn from my mistakes I use computer analysis (free at lichess.org by the way).

What I wrote to answer a question about investing at Yahoo.
Vanguard and the other stuff is for suckers who don't know how to invest their money so they pay professional idiots to invest their money for them, paying a fee so those professional idiots can make a living.
The solution is buy shares of corporations which have a long history of raising the dividend every year or every 3 months. Hold on to these shares for the rest of your life. Reinvest the dividends and watch your annual income grow. When your dividend income is greater than what your job pays you, then you can retire. I recommend Kinder Morgan and AT&T.

Too many people get retirement advice from professional idiots.
"This calls for retirees to withdraw 4% of their nest eggs each year, which would theoretically last through a 30-year retirement period."
The people who use this method have to hope they drop dead in time. What a terrible idea. It's better to never touch the principal. I'm recently retired and I plan to always have enough dividend income to live and also to buy more shares, giving myself a raise every 3 months. I do not fear living too long. And I could care less if the price of my shares goes up or down because I will never sell anything the rest of my life. The stock market can crash. I don't care.

I spent 5 hours trying to find the best refrigerator that would fit in our kitchen. I measured everything. The big problem is I can't go over height = 65 inches. I also could not find what I wanted with frost-free which means I would have to defrost the freezer instead of getting it done automatically like now. However I think frost-free would add to the noise it makes.
UPDATE: It is frost-free.
The problem with old fridge is it never shuts off and it's extremely loud.
What I found is $524.70 including tax at Best Buy. See the links.
The worst problem is somebody does not want a free and much better fridge. Very strange.

4/15/2015 IDIOT BROWARD COUNTY BUS DRIVER WHO LEAVE OCEAN BLVD AT 5:20AM, AND MY EMAIL TO BROWARD COUNTY TRAMSIT.
Almost all of your bus drivers are not enforcing the bus rules. They're not doing their job because obviously nobody is telling them to do their job. Today was typical. A passenger in the back of the bus was making loud noises with her cell phone. Since your bus drivers never do their job unless a passenger complains, I had to ask the bus driver to explain the rules about using earphones. If no earphones then the noise must be completely shut off. Instead of explaining the rules, the bus driver told me to move to another seat, as if I should change seats to accommodate somebody who can't be bothered to obey the rules. This is typical behavior for almost all your bus drivers. The passengers don't even know the rules because the bus drivers never do their job. Please fix the problem. Educate your bus drivers.

Our operators have been instructed to explain the policy to our riders when necessary concerning this issue. There may be times when the passenger may have to bring to the attention of the operator this issue as he/she may not always hear what is transpiring in the rear of the bus. But once it is brought to their attention the operator should follow the appropriate steps in enforcing this policy. If the operator fails to address the issue with the passenger then you can notify customer service and file a complaint and this issue will be addressed with the operator. Should you have a complaint concerning any other issues please contact us with the time, date, location, route, bus# and direction so that we can address this issue with the appropriate staff or call our customer service center at 954-357-8400 with the previously mentioned information.

I use Google for a lot of things including Search and Spreadsheets and Blogs, but I want to completely remove Google from my Mac Mini. On my list of Internet Accounts I do not want to see Google on that list. How do I get rid of it?
