The advantages of being a normal person, also known as an atheist.
Being a normal person (atheist) has many advantages over being an insane gullible idiot (theist or agnostic).
If you're an idiot theist (or idiot agnostic) it's very easy to grow up and become normal (atheist). All you got to do is realize the god you believe in is nothing more than a fairy with a magic wand. If you understand what your god delusion really is (it's a belief in abracadabra magic) then it's easy to realize how childish your god fantasy is. When you realize you've been a moron all your life, naturally you're going to want to fix that problem right away. The fix is obvious. Just throw out your fairy.
After you throw out the several years of intense brainwashing (child abuse) you immediately experience the best benefit of being an atheist which is the realization for the first time in your life you're a free person and not a slave to a ridiculous fantasy. You can do whatever you want with no fear of some asshole magician god watching you and judging you. You will also notice that like before, you have no desire to cause anyone harm. But now your moral values are real instead of the fake moral values of a god-fearing coward.
Another big advantage of being normal is knowing you're right. That's an important difference especially if you live in an insane country like Idiot America. You're normal while virtually everyone around you is a batshit crazy Christian (or a member of some other god-fairy-cult).
Now you can sleep late on Sundays or make some other better use of your day off instead of wasting it in a monument to stupidity (church or mosque or synagogue) while giving your hard-earned money to a worthless religious leader who is too lazy to get a real job.
After becoming normal you have new and interesting challenges. Before you used to answer difficult questions by invoking your fairy's magic wand. Now you have to think for the first time in your life and you quickly notice how rewarding it is to use your brain.
"Darwin was the first to use data from nature to convince people that evolution is true, and his idea of natural selection was truly novel. It testifies to his genius that the concept of natural theology, accepted by most educated Westerners before 1859, was vanquished within only a few years by a single five-hundred-page book. On the Origin of Species turned the mysteries of life's diversity from mythology into genuine science." -- Jerry Coyne
