Every biologist in the world, including the very rare religious biologists, agree evolution is a completely natural process and God had nothing to do with it.
In Idiot America the most recent Gallup poll shows that only 19% of Americans agree with the biologists. Evolution is true and a fairy had nothing to do with it.
38% of Americans think every species was magically created out of nothing. These are the deranged bible-thumpers.
Another 38% of Americans accept evolution but not as a completely natural process. They invoke their god fairy to invent or use or guide evolution, as if there would be no life on Earth without supernatural magic.
5% of Americans said "What is evolution?".
What this person wrote is typical: "I believe that God authored evolution. I don't know if He has a continuing hand in it. I suspect He does, but He does it by natural means. In other words, He guides evolution by means of the laws of nature He has created."
He calls his fairy "He".
The religious implications of evolution are obvious. Evolution, which is a completely natural process, totally kills the childish god fantasy. What Charles Darwin figured out almost 200 years ago, evolution by natural selection is how the world works, makes the fairy completely unnecessary. A fairy with nothing to do is a fairy that doesn't exist.
"Darwin was the first to use data from nature to convince people that evolution is true, and his idea of natural selection was truly novel. It testifies to his genius that the concept of natural theology, accepted by most educated Westerners before 1859, was vanquished within only a few years by a single five-hundred-page book. On the Origin of Species turned the mysteries of life's diversity from mythology into genuine science." -- Jerry Coyne
