"Darwin was the first to use data from nature to convince people that evolution is true, and his idea of natural selection was truly novel. It testifies to his genius that the concept of natural theology, accepted by most educated Westerners before 1859, was vanquished within only a few years by a single five-hundred-page book. On the Origin of Species turned the mysteries of life's diversity from mythology into genuine science." -- Jerry Coyne

This song is about having to endure a subway ride to work which I had to do when I used to work in Chicago. Usually I would have to stand the entire trip. The subway or elevated train was packed with too many people. One time on a crowded elevated train I was standing next to the door. The train stopped at the wrong place and for some reason the door opened. If I was pushed out it would have been a long fall to the ground and that would have been the end of me. Fortunately nobody moved.
