I just played chess with someone in Cairo, Egypt. I like to look things up after the game.

Cairo, Capital of Egypt

Cairo, Egypt’s sprawling capital, is set on the Nile River. At its heart is Tahrir Square and the vast Egyptian Museum, a trove of antiquities including royal mummies and gilded King Tutankhamun artifacts. Nearby, Giza is the site of the iconic pyramids and Great Sphinx, dating to the 26th century BC. In Gezira Island’s leafy Zamalek district, 187m Cairo Tower affords panoramic city views.

The chess game:

I made some mistakes at the beginning of the game but then I was winning. I had less than one second left when I was able to checkmate his king. Each player gets 10 minutes to finish the game.

Here is the game, the starting and ending positions, I had the Black pieces.
