The reasons why I wrote the Darwin Killed God blog

This blog was born three years ago on December 4, 2010 and it now has 1,711 posts. Why the heck did I waste so much time writing this thing? Obviously I have too much time on my hands but there are other reasons for this blog.

I live in an idiot country (America) where it seems like virtually everyone is a god-soaked evolution denier. I think that's ridiculous but interesting. How can so many millions of people be so completely wrong about the strongest, most important, and most interesting fact of science? To answer this question I wrote this blog.

I have a few ideas:

1. Religion causes great harm to the idiots who believe in it.

2. Religion causes great harm to everyone else. Just ask the victims of the 9/11 religious atrocities who had to choose between being burned alive or exploding into a red mist after jumping out of the 100th floor. Or you can ask the millions of high school students who never learned anything about evolution because their cowardly biology teachers threw out the foundation of biology to avoid harassment from Christian assholes.

3. Religious indoctrination (aka brainwashing) is child abuse.

4. How evolution works and the evidence for evolution is extremely interesting. The god-soaked science deniers don't know what they're missing.

5. The evidence for evolution is more powerful than Darwin could have imagined possible.

6. The religious implications of evolution are obvious. Darwin really did kill the idiotic god fantasy because he showed the god fairy's magic wand was not necessary for anything.

These are the ideas I wrote about. I'm hoping that people who prefer supernatural magic instead of scientific facts study this blog (and the many other websites I recommended) to find out why they're wrong about everything. There's a lot of magic tricks in the Bible. For example when the Magic Jeebus Man wanted to show off his magical powers he would do things like walk on water. This is of course impossible therefore it's a bullshit story.

The problem is Christians have decided to redefine "reality". Their logic is their god fairy can perform any magic trick whether or not this requires throwing out the laws of science.

What they have done is thrown out reality but they prefer to pretend magic is real. According to them the ability to, for example walk on water, is reality, especially if their god fairy does it.

How do Christians do this? They have to be 100% certain their ridiculous bible is "The Word of God". And once they believe that bullshit there is no turning back. Their brain damage is incurable.

Gallup polls have repeatedly shown that about 46% of Americans believe the entire universe was magically created out of nothing less than 10,000 years ago. So it's fair to say more than 100 million Americans are bible thumpers who are certain every magic trick in the Bible is real.

Obviously this is a serious problem. A nation that is about 50% lunatic is not normal. And thanks to intense religious brainwashing this disease could continue for centuries.

On Evolution, Biology Teachers Stray From Lesson Plan

Teaching creationism in public schools has consistently been ruled unconstitutional in federal courts, but according to a national survey of more than 900 public high school biology teachers, it continues to flourish in the nation’s classrooms.

Researchers found that only 28 percent of biology teachers consistently follow the recommendations of the National Research Council to describe straightforwardly the evidence for evolution and explain the ways in which it is a unifying theme in all of biology. At the other extreme, 13 percent explicitly advocate creationism, and spend at least an hour of class time presenting it in a positive light.

That leaves what the authors call “the cautious 60 percent,” who avoid controversy by endorsing neither evolution nor its unscientific alternatives. In various ways, they compromise.

The survey, published in the Jan. 28 issue of Science, found that some avoid intellectual commitment by explaining that they teach evolution only because state examinations require it, and that students do not need to “believe” in it. Others treat evolution as if it applied only on a molecular level, avoiding any discussion of the evolution of species. And a large number claim that students are free to choose evolution or creationism based on their own beliefs.

Eric Plutzer, a co-author of the paper, said that the most enthusiastic proponents of creationism were geographically widely spread across the country.

More high school students take biology than any other science course, the researchers write, and for about a quarter of them it will be the only science course they take. So the influence of these teachers looms large.

Randy Moore, a professor of biology at the University of Minnesota, was unsurprised by the study’s conclusions. “These kinds of data have been reported regionally, and in some cases nationally, for decades. Creationists are in the classroom, and it’s not just the South,” he said. “At least 25 percent of high school teachers in Minnesota explicitly teach creationism.”

“Students are being cheated out of a rich science education,” said Dr. Plutzer, a professor of political science at Penn State University. “We think the ‘cautious 60 percent’ represent a group of educators who, if they were better trained in science in general and in evolution in particular, would be more confident in their ability to explain controversial topics to their students, to parents, and to school board members.”

But Dr. Moore is doubtful that more education is the answer. “These courses aren’t reaching the creationists,” he said. “They already know what evolution is. They were biology majors, or former biology students. They just reject what we told them.

“With 15 to 20 percent of biology teachers teaching creationism,” he continued, “this is the biggest failure in science education. There’s no other field where teachers reject the foundations of their science like they do in biology.”

The burning stupidity of Jehovah’s Witnesses

A few months ago I was sitting on a bench waiting for a bus. A car stopped near me and a Jehovah's Witness asshole got out of his car and tried to give me one of his bible-thumping pamphlets. Before he could do that I ridiculed the moron relentlessly. I said quite a few things including "Your fantasies are bullshit you fucking retard." He took the hint and drove away.

A place I used to work at was infested with evolution deniers which is typical in Idiot America. One of the evolution deniers was a Jehovah's Witness. She gave me a book which I still have but can't find called "Life--How Did It Get Here? By Evolution or by Creation?"

The anti-science book is full of dishonest bullshit, including lots of complaining about fossils. The main idea of the book goes like this: "This creature is complex therefore it was magically created out of nothing."

All Christians are equally stupid but the Jehovah's Witnesses main purpose seems to be to sell their god bullshit to everyone they meet. They even knock on doors which is a risky thing to do because one of these days they're going to get something very politically incorrect done to them.

To get rid of the door knockers I just tell them to read "Why Evolution is True" by Jerry Coyne and then get back to me. They never come back.

There are real atheists and there are wimpy atheists. This post is about my contempt for the wimps.

I'm betting there are about one billion atheists on this planet. Sometimes it seems like most of them are extremely wimpy. I'm talking about the wimps who suck up to Muslims, especially the terrorists.
