This blog has tons of evidences for evolution.

Somebody asked this question about evolution and I answered it.

"Atheists, what proof would you show creationists to prove evolution?"

"The vast majority of the 203,000 ERVs are common to chimps and humans, and appear in corresponding locations in our genomes."

"Common ancestry of humans and apes can be inferred from the other lines of evidence described in this chapter, but the way that shared ERVs reinforce this pattern is perhaps the strongest single indication of it, a truly powerful and decisive smoking gun."

This blog has other posts about this evidence for evolution. This chart makes it easy to understand.

"The Human Genome Mapping Project confirmed that humans and chimps share identically damaged genes caused by ancient viruses that infected the genomes of our common ancestor and that we share even more identically damaged genes with our more distant cousins that are all nested in a hierarchy showing the correct order of speciation."

What I wrote for some stupid fucking assholes, aka Christian science deniers.

Creationists, this is the best smoking gun evidence for evolution. Are you going to accept reality? Or are you too dense to understand?

The vast majority of the 203,000 ERVs are common to chimps and humans, and appear in corresponding locations in our genomes.

"We also harbor dead genes that came from other species, namely viruses. Some, called 'endogenous retroviruses' (ERVs), can make copies of their genome and insert them into the DNA of species they infect. (HIV is a retrovirus.) If the viruses infect the cells that make sperm and eggs, they can be passed on to future generations. The human genome contains thousands of such viruses, nearly all of them rendered harmless by mutations. They are the remnants of ancient infections. But some of these remnants sit in exactly the same location on the chromosomes of humans and chimpanzees. These were surely viruses that infected our common ancestor and were passed on to both descendants. Since there is almost no chance of viruses inserting themselves independently at exactly the same spot in two species, this points strongly to common ancestry."
-- Jerry Coyne, University of Chicago biologist, author of Why Evolution Is True and Faith Versus Fact

There are thousands of evidences for evolution from numerous branches of science. You know-nothing Christians don't know how much science you have to throw out to defend your childish god fairy fantasy. You're too lazy and you're too afraid to educate yourself. It doesn't matter because you're too dense to understand.

Creationist fucktards (aka evolution deniers) are too lazy to educate themselves.

Creationists should read this book about the evidence for evolution which was written by people who used to be creationists. Unfortunately for them, they're too lazy to educate themselves. They will waste the rest of their entire lives being completely wrong about everything.

This is a quote from the book God's Word or Human Reason?: An Inside Perspective on Creationism.

This is from https://barryhisblog.blogspot.com/p/from-table-11-of-initial-sequencing-and.html

From table 2 of Initial sequence of the chimpanzee genome and comparison with the human genome,
279 of the 203,000 ERVs are specific to chimps, and 82 are specific to humans.

The vast majority of the 203,000 ERVs are common to chimps and humans, and appear in corresponding locations in our genomes. See Amount of shared ERVs.

Evidence for Evolution, Part III

WHAT IF INSERTION IS NOT RANDOM If you run the numbers with the assumption that ERVs can only insert in 1% of the genome, i.e. highly nonrandom, you still get enormously low probabilities with only 16 ERVs. So even if insertion is highly nonrandom, getting the thousands of matched ERVs between all primates is unbelievably unlikely just like I show in the video (don't believe me, do the math). Endogenous Retroviruses (ERVs) are the relics of ancient viral infections preserved in our DNA. The odd thing is many ERVs are located in exactly the same position on our genome and the chimpanzee genome. There are two explanations for the perfectly matched ERV locations. Either it is an unbelievable coincidence that viruses just by chance inserted in exactly the same location in our genomes, or humans and chimps share a common ancestor. It was our common ancestor that was infected, and we both inherited the ERVs. ERVs providence the closest thing to a mathematical proof for evolution. And remember, ERVs are just one of the millions of FACTS that support the theory of evolution. Think about it.

This chimpanzee family is not very much different from a human family.

The father is playing with the baby's foot while the mother looks at the father's eyes.

Thousands of evidences have repeatedly shown that human apes share an ancestor with chimpanzee apes.

For example human chromosome 2 and Shared ERVs: "a truly powerful and decisive smoking gun.".

This blog which is more than 8 years old has tons of evidences for evolution, 324 posts at evidence for evolution.

A book that explains some of the evidence for evolution while sucking up to the know-nothing bible-thumping assholes who have thrown out two centuries of scientific progress.

God's Word or Human Reason?: An Inside Perspective on Creationism

While much space was wasted writing about idiotic religious fantasies which are obviously wrong, not to mention childish and ridiculous, there is a lot of good science in this book. I recommend it.

One thing missing from the book: The human race is one of the great ape species. The Magic Jeebus Man was an ape. Christians worship a dead ape.

This fact, we are apes, is probably the most important fact of science because people should know what they are. It's ridiculous to write a book about evolution and say nothing about this obvious fact.

•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

"Geneticists have come up with a variety of ways of calculating the percentages, which give different impressions about how similar chimpanzees and humans are. The 1.2% chimp-human distinction, for example, involves a measurement of only substitutions in the base building blocks of those genes that chimpanzees and humans share. A comparison of the entire genome, however, indicates that segments of DNA have also been deleted, duplicated over and over, or inserted from one part of the genome into another. When these differences are counted, there is an additional 4 to 5% distinction between the human and chimpanzee genomes."

"No matter how the calculation is done, the big point still holds: humans, chimpanzees, and bonobos are more closely related to one another than either is to gorillas or any other primate. From the perspective of this powerful test of biological kinship, humans are not only related to the great apes – we are one. The DNA evidence leaves us with one of the greatest surprises in biology: the wall between human, on the one hand, and ape or animal, on the other, has been breached. The human evolutionary tree is embedded within the great apes."

The Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History.

•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

What someone else wrote: "All humans are a member of the family Hominoidea whether they want to acknowledge it or not, making them apes and close cousins to bonobos, chimpanzees, gorillas, and orangutans."

•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

A quote from page 264:

The next time you visit a zoo, go see the great apes. Recall the histories told by our bodies, by the earth, and by our DNA. These beings are not mere beasts, separated from humanity by an absolute gulf. They are our distant kin, our living link to all other life.

Now consider what those histories suggest about the future. Look at the past diversity of hominids, and how all that variety has been winnowed down to a single species: Homo sapiens. We have caused many extinctions in the past. We continue to do so on an ever greater scale. Will we do the same to the apes? Will we lose this precious link? Or can we employ our mental powers, acquired through millions of years of evolution, to turn the tide?

•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

There is one thing I noticed about the stupid fucking assholes who deny scientific facts, they don't care about the environment and they don't care about species threatened with extinction. They think their Magic Man magically created the entire universe just for them and they can do what they want with it.

I never met a Christian who wasn't a stupid fucking asshole.

•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

I found this at Amazon:

God gave humans the ability to reason, but the Bible commands that we have faith in Him. According to Answers in Genesis, the largest and most influential creationist organization in the United States, the conclusions of human reason must be rejected if they contradict our understanding of the Bible. What are the implications of this worldview, and is it the best one for a Christian to live by?

In God's Word or Human Reason?, five former young-Earth creationists explore the topics of science and Biblical exegesis with the goal of showing that the scientific method does more to glorify God than to denigrate Him. Instead of providing a broad-level overview of the evidence for evolution and an old Earth, this book takes a new approach that considers the detailed expanse of creationist technical literature. The six main chapters provide an in depth examination of these arguments in a few key areas, including stratigraphy, radiometric dating, the origins of birds and of humans, and the meaning of the book of Genesis.

Although all five authors once were young-Earth creationists, today they represent a diversity of beliefs: two atheists, two Christians, and one deist. Each has included a personal account of their experiences growing up or participating in the creationist community, as well as the factors that played into their eventually leaving. As an interfaith project, God's Word or Human Reason? represents the common ground that people of many religious affiliations can find in their appreciation of reason as a means to understand the world.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"God's Word or Human Reason? might be one of the most important popular science books yet written. Highly readable and fantastically well designed and illustrated, it contains detailed, informed responses to a huge number of creationist claims and arguments, a substantial amount of its content not previously being covered outside of the technical literature. The book contains a unique blend of both personal experience and extensive scientific discussion. The latter will definitely make it of interest and value to those already persuaded by, or interested in, a view of Earth history consistent with 'mainstream science'. But what makes the book especially significant is that it comes from the perspective of former young-Earth creationists who explain why and what it was that caused them to change their views. As such, God's Word or Human Reason? should be required reading for those with a faith-based view of the world." Darren Naish, author of Dinosaurs, How they Lived and Evolved and All Yesterdays

"The chapter on dinosaurs and the evolution of birds is engaging, clear, and beautifully illustrated. It should make anyone stop and think about the richness of the evolutionary process as explained here." Pat Shipman, author of Taking Wing and The Invaders

"Evolution is one of the most singularly powerful ideas that has ever occurred to our species. Through science, history, and philosophy, this book provides powerful evidence of humanity's ability to understand and explain the reality of evolutionary change while simultaneously undercutting the pernicious myths of modern creationism. Cogently-argued and beautifully-illustrated, this book belongs on the shelf of anyone who has grappled with the big questions of how we know what we know about nature." Brian Switek, author of My Beloved Brontosaurus and Written in Stone

"Too many people who don't accept the reality of evolution do so with a major misunderstanding. They think that evolutionary theory is rooted in belief rather than data. This book gathers the evidence of the truth of descent with modification in clearly explained case studies, to help set the record straight." Thomas Holtz, vertebrate paleontologist, University of Maryland

This was my customer review of the book:

Every creationist and everyone else should buy and read this excellent book about the overwhelming evidence for evolution. May 12, 2018
Format: Hardcover|Verified Purchase

The science in this book is excellent including for example what they wrote about ERVs:

"Common ancestry of humans and apes can be inferred from the other lines of evidences described in this chapter, but the way that shared ERVs reinforce this pattern is perhaps the strongest single indication of it, a truly powerful and decisive smoking gun."

What makes this book about the evidence for evolution unique is the authors have done everything they can to politely explain to the evolution deniers why evolution is true. It seems like half the book is about creationist ideas and the other half explains why the creationist ideas are wrong, while being extremely nice to the creationists.

I recommend this book for creationists (who unfortunately are not likely to buy it) and for everyone else who thinks evolution is the most interesting branch of science.

I suggest this book and "Why Evolution Is True" by Jerry Coyne are the two best books about evolution for people who are not biologists.

The breathtaking stupidity of the millions of science deniers in Idiot America. Evolution makes American fucktards cry.

According to these fucking idiots for Jeebus a god fairy used a magic wand even more powerful than Harry Potter's magic wand to magically create 350,000 species of beetles out of nothing. The fairy also magically created one species of human apes. Two human apes. And the fairy gave them the names Adam and Eve. Adam had his way with Eve. Their children had their way with each other and had more babies. I'm not making this up. Our Christian fucktards are 100% certain this magical bullshit is true.

To justify this anti-science anti-realty bullshit there are professional morons who have made defending magical creationism their career.

For example I found this from a profession idiot:

••••••••••••••••••
Similarities between organisms—like those between humans and apes—cannot be used to prove evolution. All living creatures down to bacteria share similarities (for example, see this article for more information on similarities). We can argue that the similarities are actually evidence for a common Designer. Why wouldn’t God create living things using similar principles? After all, an artist or builder will often create different works with a similar design.

Whether one interprets similarities as evidence for evolution from a common ancestor or evidence for the Designer depends on one’s presuppositions. The evolutionary idea of homology—inferring common descent from structure similarity—is an assumption by those who reject the Creator’s account in the Bible.
••••••••••••••••••

To defend the fairy's magical powers the professional asshole says evolution is wrong. This is their favorite excuse for throwing several branches of science.

What the asshole wrote, besides being childish and just plain fucking stupid, can't explain ERVs. How do they solve that problem? They can't explain it. They lie about it but they can't explain it.

Let's throw out all of reality and two centuries of scientific progress and pretend their fairy really did magically create human apes and chimpanzee apes out of nothing.

Their problem is ERVs were inserted in the chromosomes of ancient apes long after they were magically created so the fairy had nothing to do with it.

Why are some of these ERVs in the exact same location of both human apes and chimpanzee apes? The only possible explanation is these ERVs were inherited from a common ancient ape ancestor.

There is no other explanation. The professional idiots can deny it all they want but anyone with a brain can figure it out. We most definitely share an ancestor with the other ape species. Everything living thing on Earth shares a common ancestor. This is the strongest fact of science, supported by countless thousands of evidences from numerous branches of science.

For more information about ERVs I suggest see Shared ERVs: "a truly powerful and decisive smoking gun." and see 34 posts about ERVs.

What if a creationist fucktard read this post? Would the moron for Jeebus become very interested in this subject and try to learn more about it? Or would the creationist asshole go visit his or her favorite liar for Jeebus to find an excuse, any excuse, to ignore this powerful evidence.

Evolution makes American Christians cry because it kills their magical 2nd life fantasy. Cowards can't exist without this childish wishful thinking.

Our science deniers go out of their way to know nothing about the science that makes they cry. They never learned how to think, they never learned how to wonder why, they have no curiosity at all. They know nothing because they want to know nothing. What a pathetic waste of a life.

Science hard, hurts brain.
God easy, no think.

"If anything is absolutely, rock-bottom true, it’s that life evolved, beginning about 4 billion years ago, and that the creation myth of Genesis is completely wrong."

I tried allowing comments. There were some comments but they were boring and annoying, so I decided to go back to not allowing comments.

In other news nobody cares about I played 7 games of chess today at https://lichess.org.

There was one draw, 6 losses, zero wins. It's OK because I learned a few things but it's nice to win at least one game. Not today. I'll try again tomorrow.

Chess is a knife fight. My opponents from numerous different countries are constantly trying to kill me.

I use the time control that gives each player 10 minutes to play the entire game. It's not easy to manage the time I use. Sometimes I move too fast and sometimes I move too slow. Time trouble is a big problem.

My Lichess.org profile is at https://lichess.org/@/Bob1949.

UPDATE: Today Wednesday May 9, 2018 I have played 3 games. Two draws, one loss, zero wins.

I should have lost the 3rd game. It was so hopeless most people would have resigned. I never give up. Despite the odds I got a draw.

UPDATE: I finally won a game. I was winning then I fucked up and I was losing. Then my opponent ran of time so I won even though he had an easy win.

I don't always suck at chess. In April 2018 I won 10 games in a row.

UPDATE: May 14, 2018 I won 11 games in a row.

UPDATE: I'm going to put stuff here for me to look at later.

1. Noah and the Flood

After the Flood God gave His covenant. He gave it to Noah and his descendants; He gave it to every living creature and the earth. I remember reading that many times, asking myself: Why would God say, ‘I make My covenant with every living creature’? Why would God say He makes His covenant with the earth—rocks, sand, dirt, water? It finally dawned on me. God created it all! What God creates, He’s responsible for and He feels that He needs to take care of it.

Remember there was a garden in Eden, and God placed a man in there. What’s the first thing that He said to that man? Dress it and keep it! God wants His garden dressed and properly kept. He wants the earth running properly.

That is why He made the covenant with not only Noah, but every living creature in the earth, because all the earth is His!

The rest of it is at BULLSHIT.

The stupidity of Christian assholes is breathtaking. I never met a Christian who wasn't a stupid fucking asshole.

A Christian asshole said evolution is wrong. The moron for Jeebus prefers magic.

The fucktard wrote this about evolution: "You believe it because you WANT it to be true. I am more concerned with what is actually true."

The rest of this I wrote and of course the asshole for Jeebus ignored it.

You should tell the world's biologists why they are completely wrong about everything if you don't mind being laughed at.

You either never studied the evidence or you were too dense to understand it.

Tell us what you know about ERV's. Tell us what you know about Tiktaalik. Tell us how the paleontologists figured out they would find Tiktaalik on a remote Canadian island. You don't know any of this stuff. Tell us what you know about embryology? You know nothing.

"You believe it" Nobody "believes" in evolution. Belief is not required because evolution has countless thousands of evidences you know nothing about. Education makes you cry.

Only once in my life was I able to convince a creationist to throw out magical creationism. He was a very unusual creationist because he had a brain.

Several years ago at another website I was having a conversation with a creationist about one of the strongest evidences for evolution, ERVs in the exact same location in the DNA of human apes and chimpanzee apes.

After I explained this evidence he invoked the Christian Creationist Discovery Institute (aka Crackpot Central). He said according to the crackpots (he used a different word) those ERVs were still functional therefore the evidence is wrong. I explained it's doesn't matter if those ERVs are functional or not, what matters is they are in the exact same location in both people and chimps. The only possible explanation is those ERVs were inherited from a common ancient ape ancestor.

Then he surprised me. He said this was a problem for creationism and he asked me to recommend a book about evolution. I recommended Why Evolution Is True by Jerry Coyne. He said he would buy and read the book but he wasn't going to throw out the magic god fairy.

I said fine with me and I congratulated him for having a brain and using it. I never communicated with him again but I'm betting by now he has thrown out the fairy.

Two quotes from "Why Evolution Is True" by Jerry Coyne about ERVs and Natural Selection. Everyone should own this book.

-- Jerry Coyne, University of Chicago biologist

"Chance alone cannot explain the marvelous fit between individuals and their environment. And it doesn't. True, the raw materials for evolution--the variations between individuals--are indeed produced by chance mutations. These mutations occur willy-nilly, regardless of whether they are good or bad for the individual. But it is the filtering of that variation by natural selection that produces adaptations, and natural selection is manifestly not random. It is a powerful molding force, accumulating genes that have a greater chance of being passed on to others, and in so doing making individuals even better able to cope with their environment. It is, then, the unique combination of mutation and selection--chance and lawfulness--that tells us how organisms become adapted."
