If this Suleimani was as powerful and bad as they say - and the Israelis know it all too well - then something had to be done about him. We shouldn't be wringing our hands worrying about Iran's reaction when the only other choice would let him continue to roam at will, causing death (American deaths) and destruction everywhere in the region. It's a gamble. When his successor is chosen, at least that guy will know what awaits him if he threatens Israel, US interests and sows violence in the middle east. Perhaps, after a short burst of emotion, the Iranian leadership will pull in its horns. At the end of the day, it cannot win against American military power.

@styleman Terrific post. Nice to see someone step up with the truth on this site. Strong statement by the US and Trump. It's about time. It's too bad that the agreement with Iran gave them $150 Billion to play within the region and with military and proxy militia spending. Now the mess to deal with and clean up is much bigger than it should have been.

Many thousands of lives have been saved with

Many thousands of lives - no, millions - have
not been saved since Adolph Hitler was not
killed in 1939.
"Darwin was the first to use data from nature to convince people that evolution is true, and his idea of natural selection was truly novel. It testifies to his genius that the concept of natural theology, accepted by most educated Westerners before 1859, was vanquished within only a few years by a single five-hundred-page book. On the Origin of Species turned the mysteries of life's diversity from mythology into genuine science." -- Jerry Coyne
