Bible thumpers spend a lot of time studying their ancient bible. Why not study 21st century science instead?

Because Science will not bequeath them "original sin" so that they can seek a contrived and intangible awardance known as "salvation".

Bible thumpers need that kind of self-serving supplementation in order to feel worthy, and they will jump through 1200-pages of hoops with the entirety of their lifetimes to attain it.

Science knows better than that.
