Do Christians believe they will see the Magic Jeebus Man when they drop dead?
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
It is untrue that when a Christian dies they go immediately to heaven to be with their Saviour Jesus Christ.
This idea from many churches and bible teachers that only a Christian body dies in the grave while their souls go straight to heaven is false.
For a start the soul in man is the breath of life (Gen 2:7) which dies with the body in the grave and becomes dust again (Gen 3:19)
The soul in man is NOT immortal. Jesus said God could kill both the soul and body in hell (Matt 10:28)
Kill means to end through death and according to (Psa 16:10, Acts 2:27-31, & 1Cor 15:55) hell is just another name for the grave and the ending of life.
A Christian just like an unsaved person dies in both soul and body and awaits the future resurrection either unto eternal life or judgment in the lake of fire where that person is destroyed out of existence never to live again (John 5:28-29, 1Cor 15:20-23, Eph 5:14, Phil 3:21, & Tit 1:2)
btw- the rapture is not another means for a Christian to enter heaven. That event mentioned in (1Thess 4:13-17) says nothing about believers being taken to heaven by the Lord.
It is simply a MEETING in the air and clouds of the brethren still alive on this earth (1Thess 4:17) AFTER the tribulation (Matt 24:29)
These brethren remain on this earth after the rapture and are gathered together with the Lord forever (2Thess 2:1)
"Darwin was the first to use data from nature to convince people that evolution is true, and his idea of natural selection was truly novel. It testifies to his genius that the concept of natural theology, accepted by most educated Westerners before 1859, was vanquished within only a few years by a single five-hundred-page book. On the Origin of Species turned the mysteries of life's diversity from mythology into genuine science." -- Jerry Coyne
